While the full effects of the increased usage of the transit system is yet to be seen, I already started experiencing the ill effects. It took almost 30 min to get out of the downtown core with the train stopping twice between the Stadium and Commercial stations. We'll see how bad it gets in a couple of days when the Olympics actually start.

The Canada Line is fantastic. Getting to the airport and back is a breeze.
Glad you're enjoying it. Meanwhile, the line that should have been built in the first place to serve far more people and alleviate congestion on our highways - the green line going to the tri cities is most likely going to be scrapped.

I'm happy our government once again got their priorities straight.

I'm scared about transit service over the Olympics. I hope Translink is prepared for the influx of bodies through their system.
I think the hype about the number of people and transit issues is probably overblown. I heard that less people were coming than originally expected. My guess is it will be ok.

Transiting during the Olympics when everyone and their Grandma is encourage to ditch their cars and transit to work, scares me. I hope this is something Vancouver is ready for.

The first day of the Canada line it seemed like the stations were totally too short, not enough cars on a train. Now I hear that there will be hour-long line ups to get anywhere. What a waste of time and money, building a new skytrain line that sucks!
if that is what happens the whole thing will have been a failure
