I hope there's enough snow for this!!! Otherwise it will be Alpine Rock and Mud sliding!
what is the price per ton of trucked snow these days anyway :)

They should have relocated some of the venues then more to the interior. And speaking of these Olympics being green - are you kidding? Trucking in snow - tell me how exactly that is being offset?

No kidding! Trucking in snow seems like a waste of resources, not to mention in-efficient.

Yes, the world is looking and I can tell you we won't exactly shine. VANOC promised many 'legacies', such as increase in social housing and programs. All gone. Only legacy will be the venus. And billions of debt. Will take decades to pay off, just like Montreal's olympics from mid 70s got paid off only in 2006.

Governments had to bail out the games to the tune of billions of dollars, cut additional social services and more are to come. Top that off with BC having the worst poverty rate (especially child poverty) in Canada and I am afraid we won't shine or be a good example to the world. I expect many people to be shocked and disappointed, because they have this 'nice' image of Canada.

Truth be told, we can only fix issues once we look at them hard and acknowledge them. Exposing these issues to the world will force us to reflect on them and I can only hope we will learn the lessons.
